Chopping Block or End grain Butcher Block
Chopping blocks are made with end grain standing upright and wood fibers exposed on the surface. This kind of top is resistant to scars and is even self healing over time, as the thickness of the fibers push back into place. Chopping blocks can be from 1 1/2" to 6" thick.
